Brief: A contemporary garden design in Hale, Cheshire.

Elegant porcelain paving wraps around the property and seamlessly flows out from the interior to create a large multifunctional inside-out patio space. The layout feels open yet thoughtfully zoned, offering distinct areas for dining, relaxing, and entertaining. A built in outdoor kitchen sits under a luxury bespoke timber slat pergola and provides a relaxed space to gather, cook and socialise situated adjacent to the garden room. A second steel frame pergola defines a shaded outdoor living area with luxurious comfortable sofas. A Rivera c-side sunken spa with concrete and chevron deck surround sits below a dramatic feature wall which combines a cantilevered floating concrete bench, a liquid metal disc, and a lush green living wall for a bold, contemporary statement.

A series of floating concrete steps lead through lush planting beds onto a spacious lawn for the children to play. The contemporary urban planting scheme balances structure and softness with deep, textural borders that complement the hard landscaping and offer tranquil views from within the home. Specimen multi-stem trees and tree ferns provide height interest and architectural structure to the planting beds.

This garden harmoniously bridges the property’s period architecture and modern extension, using a mix of complementary and contrasting materials and features to create a cohesive and sophisticated outdoor environment.
