Design Process

Designing beautiful gardens and outdoor living spaces

No two projects are the same,  each posses their own set of challenges and opportunities.  We offer a comprehensive landscape design service that can be tailored to meet your requirements. The following information provides a brief window into a typical garden design process.

Initial consultation

During the first meeting we’ll discuss your ideas and explore key topics including aesthetics, practicalities and aspirations.  A Design brief will be supplied detailing the items discussed during the consultation along with a fee proposal and any relevant information required.

Survey

We will undertake a survey and perform a site analysis for small gardens.  Larger gardens or challenging sites will require a full topographical survey commissioned from a professional surveyor.

Draft design concept

An outline draft design proposal is created and presented in the form of a 3D CAD illustration, a 2D plan and mood board. You will also have the opportunity to explore the CAD wireframe model in 3D providing a clear vision for your garden.

Master Plans

Following any further development required, once you are happy with the design it is translated it into a Master plan, working drawings, construction detailing, lighting plan and a full schedule of works and written specification including selected materials.

Planting Design

A planting scheme is composed to compliment the proposed landscape. A plan detailing tree and plant spreads and locations is provided along with a plant pallet or mood board, a plant schedule and a quotation.

Project Implementation

We will recommend a suitable landscaper or two from our list of trusted contractors to tender for the project, overseeing the process and offering our support in value engineering if necessary. Once we have appointed a landscaper, we can monitor the build on your behalf, helping to ensure that the garden is constructed as the design intended to our exacting standards.

Each garden is priced individually according to the scale and complexity of the project.  Please get in touch for more information on pricing and the design process.
